I need to apologize, I should have walked into the newish Fayette Street Oyster House & Grill sooner. They have been open for a few months now in the former home of Tierra Caliente. I am a creature of habit sometimes and as it is I don’t get out to eat too often and will sometimes just keep going to my favorite places (and in Conshohocken and beyond we have so many great places).
Now, this is where the Conshohocken Ambucs Restaurant Rally comes in…. I walked with a good group of friends through our borough on Sunday. You get to sample some food and drinks from like 20 of our restaurants. Walk from place to place, or catch a bus to the further ones… Had it not been for the restaurant rally, it may have taken me longer to realize I should add the Fayette Street Oyster House & Grill to my rotation of places we go.
The Oyster House ( to the Conshy old school people, I know, it’s hard for me to say or think Oyster House and not think about the little place on East 10th that later became Tillie’s) was offering clam chowder as part of the restaurant rally. It was delicious. Not real creamy, right amount of actual clams/potatoes….but while I was there I got a chance to peek at the menu and even chat with Peter Dissin the owner. I’m going to paraphrase here, but he said the community has been very supportive and he loves being in Conshohocken.
Before I let you go and take a look at the website for yourself, I’ve had a few customers tell me how good the salmon was. I think that’s what I’ll be trying on my first actual visit to the Fayette Street Oyster House & Grill. Best of luck there Peter and welcome to Conshohocken.
