I’m overwhelmed. Why? Well a few weeks ago we posted this on Facebook:
Two things…. Tell us a person in our community who goes above and beyond. Second thing.. tell us your favorite restaurant and maybe the person you speak highly of will get a gift card to your favorite restaurant. We’re going to give out at least one, maybe two gift cards to deserving people in our community. We hope everyone had a good 2022.
Since then, there have been over 200 comments with so much love for people in our community and of course I think every restaurant we have was named at least twice. When we posted it, we thought we would go and hand a deserving person or two a gift card, say thank you and move on. Well, because of all of you pointing out so many great people in our community I have been busy knocking on doors, saying thank you on both sides of the bridge and getting to chat with a few of these people. The best thing, is all of the people I have had the chance to chat with, didn’t feel they deserve it, they are just being themselves. I love that.
On a very personal note. A few days after we posted this on Facebook I got an e-mail and it read: Hi Brian, I was inspired by your post last week about good people in the community and want to nominate you. Thank you for all you do. This came with a gift card that from what I understand a number of people contributed to and I can’t thank all of you enough. I don’t think I deserve it, but I will take my family out for dinner one night soon and I’ll be thinking of how special our community is. Really, I’m overwhelmed even sharing this. I had to reread that e-mail a few times and I thank you.
I’m not done spreading the Conshy love yet, I’m not sure I can visit everyone that was nominated but it’s been an honor to chat with a few people who I caught at their home or places of business. In other case we just simply slipped a gift card in a mailbox. I had help and I need to thank the folks at Simply DiWine Jellies. The ladies there make incredible wine jellies and a couple of the people nominated are in the food industry and I felt weird giving them gift cards to other restaurants. When I wanted to place an order with Dana of Simply DiWine she wanted to spread some Conshy Love as well and donated some wine jellies. (you can find them at Artists Loft on East 5th Ave)
If we still have you…. a simple way for you to spread some love in our community and have a great night out is the Conshy Adult Prom. This year it is a Studio 54 theme and the event raises money for the Colonial Neighborhood Council, the Conshohocken Free Library and the Colonial School District Education Foundation. Last year the event raised $5,000 for local charities. You can follow this link for tickets or purchase tickets in person at Coll’s Custom Framing. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/a-night-at-studio-54-conshohocken-adult-prom-tickets-482208597897?fbclid=IwAR2aNLFMnu5rb_ILfVtOlppFsZKuoJem4VG669K1jPwqWRcJmDZYpvKJYRE
Thank you for telling us about the amazing people we have in our community. Thank all of you for reading this and being a part of our community.
