Please Paint the Conshohocken Post Office
Recently we posted an evening photo of the Conshohocken Post Office on our Facebook page. It was a cool photo with a large full moon. While a number of people liked the photo, half the comments mentioned the post office could use a little love and a coat of paint.
Here is the photo in question:
We felt compelled to start an online petition in order to have our Post Office painted. We were inspired by Margaret Shippen Beaver Molony who in the 1930’s petitioned the federal government to use red bricks which would better suit the Borough of Conshohocken as opposed to the yellow bricks which were in the governments plans. Margaret took two separate trips too Washington DC with signed petitions in hand from the residents of Conshohocken to have our post office be built with Red Bricks. In 1939, our post office was built with Red Bricks, thanks to the dedication of Margaret Shippen Beaver Molony. We’re not asking the postal service to change the color of the bricks, simply freshen up a local landmark.
Here is the Change.org petition if you would consider signing it.
