We have close to 10,000 people in our borough, add in the residents of West Conshohocken, Plymouth, Whitemarsh and Lafayette Hill and we have a large community. Some of the people that will be featured will be well known in the area, some will have just moved into the area, some will have been here their entire lives. Some of them may be business owners, or people who walk around the area, or maybe work in the area. Maybe you know them, maybe you don’t. Everyone has a story. While we are only going to take their picture and maybe ask a question or two, we want to share these stories with you.
*******************************************************************************************
Quick backstory, I feel like I’ve gotten into sourdough bread a lot lately, not baking it, just eating it! One of my best friends in the entire world Julie dropped off a fresh baked loaf recently, and more recently my friends Mark and Jackie Downing have been baking a few loafs a week and I always claim one. That brings me to our next People of Conshohocken – Justice Martin.
I ordered a few things from him and popped into his kitchen at Spring Mill. We were chatting as he finished my order and it hit me.. ask him a few questions. So, here we go.
Alright, I do a people of Conshohocken from time to time on Conshystuff.com…. want to answer a few questions?
How long have you been baking? And how long for yourself?
I started baking 4 years ago; working in the restaurant industry half my life.
I know you’re set up at various markets and such, but how do people get your baked goods besides finding you at a market?
You can find my baked goods over in the kitchen at spring mill firehouse, weekly bake sale with cash or my pre orders on https://www.hotplate.com/ajbreadandbakeryllc
What’s your favorite thing to bake?
My favorite thing to bake has to be Italian Maritozzi, it is excellent in its simplicity and a fan favorite.
I can’t wait to try the ones I’m getting right now….What other things do you have?
I offer cookies, sourdough focaccia, english muffins, fresh whipped cream, infused butters, soft pretzels, brownies, cinnamon rolls.
Thanks so much, happy holidays if I don’t see you. I might have to order some things for any get togethers this holiday season.
