Let’s get right to it…. the amazing weather, the incredible Philles World Series run, the Eagles remain undefeated, the Union going to a shootout to determine the championship. Well, all of that and more has kept us, and maybe you from focusing on the Conshystuff Food Drive. All the food, personal care items, baby supplies stay local, in our community. The Colonial Neighborhood Council is located at 107 East 4th Ave in Conshohocken. The Colonial Neighborhood Council, or CNC for short provides food for over a couple hundred families in our community. The CNC has a food cupboard as well as a selection of clothing for those in need. While we are focused on food, the CNC accepts and distributes winter coats, clothes and personal care items as well.
Want to help? That’s the easy part. Drop off your items to the CNC at 107 East 4th Ave. If you go to the rear of the building, you will find clothes set up, canned goods and other items ready for people to shop. Most days during the week they are there from about 6am until at least noon. Can’t get there in time, drop off at Coll’s Custom Framing 324 Fayette Street in Conshohocken.
Have a few friends, or maybe some great neighbors? Maybe you and your friends could focus on one item and drop off. It could be a focus on Thanksgiving, like a goal of 150 jars of gravy, or tell some friends you want to have a peanut butter and jelly party. If you work at a local company, you could hold your own internal food drive and then reach out when you want to deliver to the CNC.
Want to help, but really can’t get to the CNC, here is an Amazon wishlist: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2ZO3M62046J2B?ref_=wl_share&fbclid=IwAR2cXyUwYB7shYoCAtLiaxTYkLh601lTtDvW3LRXytwAeH8DF3Ruac3Mylc
The Conshystuff Food Drive and CNC aren’t picky, just no expired items please. Items really always in need, tuna, peanut butter, jelly, pasta, pasta sauce, condiments, toilet paper, paper towels, canned fruit, SOUPS, granola bars and so much more!
Yesterday, students and staff from Saint Philip Neri brought an entire Sague School Bus filled up to the CNC. It was incredible. This was the 9th year in a row these students and staff have done this. Some of the students who took part the first year are now in college or have recently graduated. How crazy is that?
Thank you to everyone who has donated in the past. Thank you to everyone who has helped along the way. Special Thank you to my sister Jackie Coll. Without Jackie this is a dream that doesn’t come true. Big thank you to Michele Sague Abiuso for the idea and following up with the Fill a Bus. Thank you to Jp Hussey and his entire family for creating and continuing the Kick off party which recently took place and started our Conshystuff Food Drive with 2,000 pounds of food for our community. To my parents for instilling in my sister and I these values of looking out for our community, I can’t thank you enough.
THANK YOU!
