I’m willing to bet a paycheck that the passing of this ordinance
Had something to do with a Leflar, a McTamney, and/or a McGuire.

A Pleasant Ride
On Thursday evening we had the pleasure of a ride with Mr. William Stemple, behind his fast trotter “Billy.” As we speeded along over country roads we thought what a nice thing it was to have a fast horse.

Gypsies Frighten Children
The Misses Katherine McElheny and Ethel Dooley took a party of children to Spring Mill Woods yesterday for an outing. While the party was enjoying itself a party of six young gypsy men put in an appearance and women and children ran to the home of William Strauss with the gypsies pursuing them. Dumping Ground Catches Fire
The quarry hole at the rear of Charles Slavin’s property, 207 East Ninth Avenue has of late been used as a dumping ground by merchants and others and a quantity of waste paper has been dumped there. Last Saturday afternoon someone placed a lot of waste paper in the hole, set fire to it and left it to burn away. The fire spread to the banks of the quarry and was eating its way up to the fence at the rear of Slavin’s property. Mrs. Slavin saw the fire when it was within a few feet of the fence, which if it had caught fire would have communicated it to a garage. She summoned the No. 2 Fire Company and the fireman extinguished the flames.

Steelers Football
Back in the fall of 1992 a number of local guys made up the core of the Conshohocken Steelers Football Team. Steve Borkowski, John Kelly, Reggie Billins, John Lesczyinski, Ed Borkowski, Ricky Leflar, Doug Avery, Nick Pergine, Barry Doganieri, Scott Leflar, Glenn Flaso, Bill Freas, Keith Galie, John Proietto, Steve McQuirns, Andy Golden, Joe Friend and many other local guys.
Two games of note in the 1992 season was a 24-0 victory over the Northwest Saints, a game played in a driving rain at the Conshohocken “A” Field. Bernie McCabe scored an early touchdown, Willard Cooper fired a two point conversion strike to Steve McQuirnes, Nick Pergine recorded a sack for a safety making it a 10-0 lead that was good for the victory.
A week later the Steelers beat the Rams in an impressive 20-14 overtime victory. John Proietto caught the game winning touchdown in the back of the end zone.

Swetkowski Paces Fellowship House Win
The Fellowship House Boys Senior Basketball League ended as Wildcats defeated Overlanders 71-54. Both clubs went into the game with identical 6-4 records and were playing for a playoff position. A scoreless first quarter was the downfall for the losers, who fell behind 14-0 and never could get enough steam to get back into the contest as the winners. Ed (Butch) Swetkowski led the scoring with 24 points. Pat O’Donnell had 15 points and Joe Capaldi had 12 points in the victory. Harvey Jones had 17 points and Dave Dozier had 15 points for the Overlanders.
Besides Swetkowski, Schank, Bono, Olszewski, Capaldi, and Cooper played well for the Wildcats and Batchler, Cannon, Mobley, Bell, and Fisher played well for the Overlanders.
