Then and Now _ The Bubbling Springs Hotel
1/12/2021
My dad Jack and I were recently working on a project and I fell in love with this old photo. Honestly I had a hard time placing where this building would be today in our community. My mind took me to the Spring Mill Cafe or maybe the building at the corner of Cedar Groove and Hector Street where it becomes Barren Hill Road. Part of what “tricked” me was the fact that the road actually moved at some point, so I am so used to seeing the “back” of this building from the current Hector Street. Here is the front of this building which now faces the Septa parking lot by the Spring Mill Train Station. It is at the intersection of North Lane and Hector Street.
The Spring Mill area was so full of life at one point. Mills, small businesses and more residents than in other areas of Whitemarsh. Recently we showed an old photo of the Bubbling Springs themselves.
We hope you enjoyed this Then and Now.
Do us a favor, keep supporting our local businesses during this tough time for so many.
Thank you,
the Coll family
