by Brian Coll
I know I said Saturday, but I guess it really starts tonight. The Conshohocken Beer Garden kicks off the fall season this evening. It takes place along the river and is a really good time.
On Fayette Street…. tonight, tomorrow and Sunday international artist and animator Ron Campbell will be at Coll’s Custom Framing. Ron will be showing off works from his over 50 year career including but not limited to his work with the Beatles. Ron was instrumental in the Yellow Submarine Movie as well as directing and animating their Saturday Morning Cartoon show that ran in the 60’s. Ron worked on other cartoons that you’re sure to remember such as Scooby Doo (did you know that Scooby Doo is turning 50 this month) the Flinstones, the Jetsons, the Smurfs, Captain Caveman, the Rugrats and more.
Ron will be at Coll’s in person from 4-8 on Friday, Noon til 6 on Saturday and before noon til 4 on Sunday. Coll’s is at 324 Fayette Street.
Other things to do on this evening, if the weather holds up, it should be a great night on the deck at the Great American Pub. Talk a walk on Fayette Street or maybe picnic in one of the parks.
Saturday……
Saturday there is the 4th and Fayette Fall Festival taking place at you guessed it, 4th and Fayette. From 9-2 artists and crafters will be set up along Fayette Street (sidewalk) as well as behind the stores of Sanctuary Blu and Coll’s Custom Framing. Hungry? Deli on 4th will have food available. There is the possibility of a live musical performance by some acoustic guitar players with Conshy roots.
This is a partial list of artists and crafters participating.

Have you been to the Conshohocken Free Library lately? Well Saturday is a great day to stop in. The Friends of the Conshohocken Library have a monthly book sale the first Saturday of each month, and guess what, this is the first Saturday in September. I’m not 100% sure, but some months they offer a deal…. $5.00 fill a bag of books.
There is a Grand Opening for XTRA CONSHY, XTRA CONSH is located at 515 Fayette Street, stop in and check them out tomorrow from 10-5. They are a premier boutique featuring women’s fashion.
Sunday.
Ron Campbell will be at Coll’s Custom Framing from a little before noon until 4:00 showing off and selling his works from 50+ years as an animator.
Eagles… yes the Eagles season kicks off on Sunday. You can’t go wrong at the Boathouse to watch the games. This year you could tailgate on the rooftop deck at the Pub, then go watch the game inside somewhere, or enjoy it outside on one of the TV’s they have spread around.
