This is part of our People of Conshohocken series…
We have close to 10,000 people in our borough, add in the residents of West Conshohocken, Plymouth, Whitemarsh and Lafayette Hill and we have a large community. Some of the people that will be featured will be well known in the area, some will have just moved into the area, some will have been here their entire lives. Some of them may be business owners, or people who walk around the area, or maybe work in the area. Maybe you know them, maybe you don’t. Everyone has a story. While we are only going to take their picture and maybe ask a question or two, we want to share these stories with you.

Have you ever driven or walked past a place on Hector Street and seen the sign that says “Got Your Back”? I think if you have any back pain, or probably any pain and you want to try something do yourself a favor and walk in. There is a good possibility you will see our People of Conshohocken – Shannon Haughey there. That is how I got to know her. The building itself is home to the TK Club, Got Your Back and Conshohocken Community Acupuncture. I think Shannon can be found there most days but I don’t know the entire schedule. What I can tell you about Shannon is this….
Shannon came here for Chicago, not so much for the location, but because she married a guy from Lafayette Hill. In comparing the two, our community compared to Chicago, she loves the people here and the diverse architecture. Here we have old stone, there is more brick and glass in Chicago. As far as the people go, she sees a lot of good people here of all ages. She enjoys the mix of new and old residents, hearing about the history, but appreciating newer residents with newer ideas. She’s been at Conshohocken Community Acupuncture since its inception about 2 and a half years ago. It’s a great concept of the “community” acupuncture. She is also offering Shiatsu sessions.
Since she lives in Lafayette Hill, maybe we should call this a People of Lafayette Hill…… one thing she misses in Lafayette Hill is the Lucky Dog. I can tell you I am glad it moved to Conshohocken. I took my family there the other night and we had a great time. Great staff and the owners are fantastic. I did enjoy it at the former location on Germantown, but really love the proximity to everything here in Conshy.
Shannon, thanks for chatting with me, hope to see you soon. Hopefully I won’t need to see you for my back anytime real soon though…..
