People of Conshohocken
This is part of our People of Conshohocken series…
We have close to 10,000 people in our borough, add in the residents of West Conshohocken, Plymouth and Whitemarsh and we have a large community. Some of the people that will be featured will be well known in the area, some will have just moved into the area, some will have been here their entire lives. Some of them may be business owners, or people who walk around the area, or maybe work in the area. Maybe you know them, maybe you don’t. Everyone has a story. While we are only going to take their picture and maybe ask a question or two, we want to share these stories with you.

I got the chance to talk to my friend Frank Carlin today, you and most of Conshohocken may know him as Peaches. If you don’t know him, please keep reading to see what makes him special. He came by today to ask about one of the I Support Conshohocken Police signs. I told him to check out the Community Center or the old Fellowship House. Before he turned and left we started talking about Conshy, at some point I asked how long he has lived here now. He has lived here 65 of his 75 years on this earth. He has been a member of the Washington Fire Company for 44 years. A few other fun facts about Frank…. he drives a 1941 Dodge around town, he has started to sneak to Florida in the wintertime before coming back to help the guys and girls out at Washies. At some point, I asked if I could take his picture for the website and of course he said yes…. I then asked him his favorite memory, firefighting career or just Conshohocken. He didn’t hesitate to tell me he was proudest to have his children and grandchildren born and raised here in Conshohocken. He spoke about each of his children with a gleam in his eye. The thing is…. I half expected him to tell me about the time he saved those kids from a burning building. Going back a few years, he did in fact rescue members of a family form a fire. We didn’t stop talking about his kids and grandkids once he got started. He is proud of all of them. The reason he was looking for that sign when he walked in the door, is one of his sons is a West Conshohocken Police office ( a great one at that I might add ).
It was really great seeing him, he has a way of making your day better just by talking to you for a couple of minutes. If you see him out and about, say hi, maybe thank him for all those years of being a firemen here in our community. Knowing him, he’ll probably shake it off and want to talk about something else, maybe his kids and grandkids…..
Thanks to our friends at the Neal Eye Group.
