This is part of our People of Conshohocken series…
We have close to 10,000 people in our borough, add in the residents of West Conshohocken, Plymouth and Whitemarsh and we have a large community. Some of the people that will be featured will be well known in the area, some will have just moved into the area, some will have been here their entire lives. Some of them may be business owners, or people who walk around the area, or maybe work in the area. Maybe you know them, maybe you don’t. Everyone has a story. While we are only going to take their picture and maybe ask a question or two, we want to share these stories with you.

This is Gia…. She offered to deliver some Girl Scout Cookies the other day and we took her up on the offer. She walked into our store with a big smile on her face. Gia is 6 years old and is in her 2nd year selling Girl Scout Cookies. While she is technically a Daisy from Troop 7357, she still works hard to sell the cookies and earn points towards a week at Girl Scout Camp. She told me she was 6 years old, but was quick to point out she had a birthday coming up and she will turn 7! She also told me that for her birthday she wants to bring in some Girl Scout Cookies to share with her friends and classmates at Plymouth Elementary School. When I asked her what was her favorite thing about being a Girl Scout, she was smiling and told me she gets to have fun and be with her friends. I asked about the new S’Mores Cookies that I have heard about and she told me they were yummy, so naturally I had to open a box while her and her mom were here to try them out. There are 2 new types of S’Mores Cookies this year, but they are somewhat regional. So you may only get to try one of the types depending on how far you travel…..
Gia, thank you and your mom for bringing us the Girl Scout Cookies. Gia did tell me she sold over 500 boxes last year and that is her goal this year. If she can sell 500 boxes, she gets to go to Girl Scout Camp! I think we can help her reach her and other Girl Scouts reach their goal….
This was on the back of her vest and I thought of that movie Office Space… with the “flair”. Gia was happy to show me her patches. She is a hard working young lady. Best of luck Gia, thank you so much.
