People of Conshohocken – Curveball
by Brian Coll
4/2/2025
We have close to 10,000 people in our borough, add in the residents of West Conshohocken, Plymouth, Whitemarsh and Lafayette Hill and we have a large community. Some of the people that will be featured will be well known in the area, some will have just moved into the area, some will have been here their entire lives. Some of them may be business owners, or people who walk around the area, or maybe work in the area. Maybe you know them, maybe you don’t. Everyone has a story. While we are only going to take their picture and maybe ask a question or two, we want to share these stories with you.

This past Friday night at Sutcliffe Park, Conshohocken introduced a new resident, a bear named Curveball! Curveball is the new mascot at Conshohocken Baseball & Softball League! We knew we had to do a People of Conshohocken with him, or is it her? Lets just go with Bear…

Welcome to Conshohocken!
Thank you, Butch! It is really an honor to be part of your series in ConshyStuff.com! I love the borough… the vibe and it’s personality are perfect!
When you’re not at Sutcliffe Park, where do you hang out or hibernate?
Winter is brutal. I’m not one of those ridiculous cold weather bears… piece of advice for you… if you ever see a polar bear, just keep on walking… any bear that purposely swims in ice water is missing a screw or two…just not worth the interaction!
Typically, I tuck myself into these woods at Sutcliffe and ride the snooze button from November until March or so.
Every once and a while I’ll hit a local pub for a pint and a sandwich – double meat, rare, double American cheese… absolutely no condiments or sauce. Most condiments are awful…like why the hell would you want to hide the taste of meat?!
Who’s your favorite mascot?
The Phillie Phanatic and I have become tight recently. Game recognizes game, you know?
Watched a University of Arizona game the other day… That Wilma T. Wildcat might be my next favorite… for obviously reasons. Just look for yourself. Straight fire.
What’s your favorite food at the snack stand?
Mike at the snack stand is a good dude! Very solid meatball sandwich.
Actually worked out a deal with him where I can give out “Curveball Cash” gift certificates to fans at Conshy Baseball and Softball games this season. Come hit me up! The print job on those things is sweet too!
Where and when can we find you in the future?
I’m going to be at Sutcliffe for their Friday Game of the Week series! Come down! I’ve been working with my friend Phil and the league to bring a bit of outside entertainment to the games.
This week we have some close up Illusionist dude coming and next Friday, April 11th at 6:00p.m. I’m coordinating with the real deal Bunny to have an Easter Egg hunt. All are welcome!
I’m going to scare the fluff out of that hopping rodent by shooting about a dozen or so reinforced prize Easter Eggs out of my Air Cannon too. You may have seen my Air Cannon in action at the St Patrick’s Day parade the other week… I loaned it out to Eric Aman and Tim Fleming…they had that thing rocking and rolling!
Anything else you want to add?
I’m just happy to be here and to be a part of something truly special that we are building together. Thanks again, Butch…you are the man.
Thanks Curveball, welcome to Conshohocken. We are excited to have you here and we hear there are some exciting Friday nights planned at the ballfields. Games started this past week, and the league is having a PLAYBALL Day, where there will be action on all the fields and even a band to end the day. Hope to see you there all spring long!
