This is part of our People of Conshohocken series, but this one was done as a special happy 100th Birthday to Anna (Coshin) Coscia.
We have close to 10,000 people in our borough, add in the residents of West Conshohocken, Plymouth, Whitemarsh and Lafayette Hill and we have a large community. Some of the people that will be featured will be well known in the area, some will have just moved into the area, some will have been here their entire lives. Some of them may be business owners, or people who walk around the area, or maybe work in the area. Maybe you know them, maybe you don’t. Everyone has a story. While we are only going to take their picture and maybe ask a question or two, we want to share these stories with you.

Happy 100th birthday to this young lady! Anna has been living in Conshohocken her entire life. She was born soon after the Matsonford Bridge was opened…. well, the last one! You may have seen her going into the Fellowship House (now the Conshohocken Community Center) to play Bingo on Mondays, or out in her garden on a nice day. In her younger days she was employed as a seamstress for Gordon’s of Philadelphia. She is the last remaining sibling of 10! She hosts a weekly high stakes card game (teasing, it’s not really high stakes). We’ve been told she is a great baker. I was asking a relative of hers who wished to remain anonymous out of fear of retribution what her secret to a long life is and she chalked it up to her 2 glasses of wine a day!
So, if you see Anna out and about, please wish her a happy 100th birthday! (April 4th is the official birthday, but her family and friends have a couple things planned)
