Peanut Butter Bon Bon Fundraiser
by Brian Coll
I grew up here, went to school here and my fondest memory from the Colonial Middle School is the peanut butter bon bon’s at lunch. I didn’t find them anywhere else, my love affair started and ended in middle school with the peanut butter bon bon…until I rediscovered them at Kriebel’s Bakery. Kriebel’s Bakery is located on Ridge Pike in Eagleville. Of course I had to know the connection, I thought maybe this Colleen Kriebel went to the middle school as well and tried to duplicate the recipe, turns out I was wrong. Turns out Ruth Mazza (who back in the 80’s was Ruth Yaeger) worked for the Colonial School District and made bon bon’s for all of the schools. Currently she is the baker behind the bon bon’s at Kriebel’s Bakery. Ruth happens to be Colleen Kriebel’s mom and may have passed on the secret recipe.
Having said that, here is what we have come up with, a unique fundraiser for the Colonial Neighborhood Council. We are going to take preorders for 10 good size bon bon’s for $12.00 a container. We are giving you three pick up days, all Saturdays in December, in Conshohocken. We’re going to pick up all the orders at Kriebel’s in Eagleville and have them at Coll’s Custom Framing. Place your order by December 2nd, for a December 5th pick up. December 9th for a December 12th pick up. Order by December 16th for December 19th pick up.
Order them 2 ways, one in person at Coll’s Custom Framing, 324 Fayette Street. Please cash or check. Or, this is very new to us. Venmo. Here is the code, place you order and we’ll do our best with this new technology. Help us out by noting your name and bon bon’s in the memo. If you want to simply make a donation to the Colonial Neighborhood Council tell us donation. Or… we can buy bon bon for a patron of the Colonial Neighborhood Council in your honor.
Thank you, we are ordering some for ourselves! They are incredible. Share this simple way to help the Colonial Neighborhood Council this holiday season. Thank you to Colleen and the staff at Kriebel’s Bakery for helping us out with this unique fundraiser
