It’s one of those days where you just want to be outside! We were having a long conversation with a friend about the old Club Rio….right on the river. If you are newer in the area, you are probably scratching your head wondering what the hell am I talking about….. So, for a few years Conshohocken was home to a unique night club on the river. It started out as a restaurant, and eventually turned more into a night club.

It opened in the mid 90’s and without a liquor license, so when you went for dinner, they gave you a complimentary adult beverage. It was a nice place, you felt like you walked inside of Noah’s Ark for dinner, I seem to recall some windows that looked like portals on ships in the lower restaurant level. At some point it’s named changed to Club Rio and at the time it brought in some cool musical acts. I remember seeing the Sugar Hill Gang there.
