Okay, this sucks. I hope no one was killed today at Sherry Lake Apartments in this devastating fire that took place.
Thank you to all of our first responders.
Now, here is where the rest of us can help. Theses people lost everything. If you have a few things around the house, bring them to the Colonial Neighborhood Council at 107 East 4th Ave. There is a collection bin outback if it is not open. I’m sure someone who lost everything wears your size. Got a pair of old sneakers… go for it. Warm coat you aren’t using… yup. Work outfits, yes, workout outfits, sure…. kids clothes, yes please.
If you were affected by this tragedy. please go see Sandi (a saint on earth) at the Colonial Neighborhood Council. 610-828-6595
Generally in events like this, the Red Cross responds and can help these people and families out with housing for about 3 days, that doesn’t give these people a lot of time to find somewhere else to live. So…. if you are a landlord with a place for rent, please be cool if someone calls you from this fire. They don’t even have a bed to move in, but will need a place to stay somewhat fast.
Thank you to all the fire departments, first responders, EMT’s that responded today and to the people affected by this tragedy, we are thinking of you and are truly sorry. I pray that no one was killed today.
