This is something new, we’re going to try to get around to the businesses in our community, and chat with one of the workers, or employees, probably not the owner. I can probably name most of the owners of small businesses in our community, however, I’m not sure I could name more than a handful of the employees that make our community go.
This is part of our People of Conshohocken series, but focusing on the faces you see at businesses in our community. Let us know what you think.
We have close to 10,000 people in our borough, add in the residents of West Conshohocken, Plymouth, Whitemarsh and Lafayette Hill and we have a large community. Some of the people that will be featured will be well known in the area, some will have just moved into the area, some will have been here their entire lives. Some of them may be business owners, or people who walk around the area, or maybe work in the area. Maybe you know them, maybe you don’t. Everyone has a story. While we are only going to take their picture and maybe ask a question or two, we want to share these stories with you.

We wanted to start with the smiling face that greets us most days at Deli on 4th – Kaylee!
I was shocked when I asked her how long she has been there, 6 years was her answer! We chatted about the day to day stuff for a minute and then she lit up when I asked her about her favorite food at the Deli on 4th… honey mustard wrap with extra crispy chicken. (I’m trying that soon)
We talked about her favorite days there and she immediately went to the outdoor events that make Conshy feel so alive. The Saint Patrick’s Day Parade and the AMBUCS Restaurant Rally (coming back in late 2021)
This part made me so happy… I didn’t ask a question, we were just chatting when she told me her happiest day there was the day Steph took over. (we love Steph and what she has done with the place and creating the Shack in the Back and their famous smoothies)
When she isn’t working, she loves walking around Conshohocken, shopping local. You might catch her eating on the back patio or out front of the Deli on 4th. Or maybe on a bench with one of the Shack in the Back smoothies.
What we didn’t talk about, but things I have noticed… she loves dogs, has a great smile for anyone who enters the Deli on 4th, she seems to remember everyone’s name. She always seems to have the biggest smile. So, the next time you visit the Deli on 4th, make sure you say hi to Kaylee and tell her you saw this on Conshystuff.com
