It’s been a strange week, and our attention has been turned to the fire at Sherry Lake and the aftermath. Before we talk about the Conshohocken Adult Prom…. if you can grab a gift card to Target or something like that, the Colonial Neighborhood Council can use them to pass out to the families affected by the fire. Currently the CNC has enough clothes, blankets and such to get the people affected through this difficult time.
Now, let’s talk about a fun event that is coming up in less than a month. The Conshohocken Adult Prom, or #ConshyProm. Every prom has a theme and this one is the 4 Hour Cocktail Prom. Why is that the theme you might be asking yourself…. well, since this is a prom for adults, think of it like a fun wedding. You go, watch the ceremony, hang out for cocktail hour where you are snagging all the appetizers that walk past you while having a drink and a fun conversation. At some point, you go find your seat and wait for the salad to come out, then the food, then you watch a speech or two, a first dance, the cake being cut…. wait a second… a lot of that I can personally do without, just get me back to the cocktail hour where I was having fun, enjoying myself, not waiting for a salad, not waiting to watch a first dance. Cocktail Hour, yeah, that’s the fun part, and then maybe a little latter the dancing. Let’s cut the crap and get to the fun parts, cocktail hour and some dancing. Throw in a couple of bands and now you’re talking. So that is what’s going on with the 4 Hour Cocktail Prom. Well, since it’s a prom and all and not a wedding, there has to be some spiked punch!
Here’s what you get… first of all, get dressed up. How dressed up, well that is up to you. That has been the biggest question so far, people have been asking, what is everyone wearing. For the most part it seems like guys are suiting up or maybe checking out Flocco’s for a tux rental. Ladies, well… XTRA Boutique has some dresses you can check out, La Bella Moda had a rack of dresses for $50 the other day when we stopped in, and a few ladies have mentioned Rent the Runway. Okay, once you’re dressed up, come to the Great American Pub where the event is being held. You know, the people at the Pub are amazing. When we told them what we were doing and that 100% of the proceeds benefit 3 Conshohocken based charities not only did they work with us to create an amazing menu for the evening they offered to be the event sponsor and that helps the 3 charities even more. The charities are the Conshohocken Free Library, the Colonial Neighborhood Council and the Conshohocken Free Christmas Dinner. Once you are at the Great American Pub on February 22nd, go to the ballroom and get your picture taken by Nick Contos Petrilli at one of our backdrops for the event. Want to fool around in the photobooth, yup, we got one of those too. Lucid by Midnight will be playing some entrance early evening music and then DeeJay AJ Dilworth will take over and bring us closer to the P-Rents taking the stage. All through the evening, you can enjoy cocktail hour, appetizers, spiked punch. Find a table or mingle at a high top or hit the dance floor. Don’t mind Andrew Kibe Productions doing the videography of the evening.. that’s just to show people what they missed.
Thank you to our Title sponsor the Great American Pub as well as Conshy sponsors The George Washington Wood Bed & Breakfast, Noele Stinson Realtor, Bucci Jewelers and Prom sponsors Saulino Law, XTRA, and ScottiWorks LLC.
None of this would be possible without the work of these dedicated people Barbara Asman, Brian Coll, Adrienne Condrone, Ashley Snow Gaydos, Tom Gaydos, Anna Gibbard, Liliana Gravagno, Ian McTague, Nick Contos Petrilli, Erin Saulino, Laura Scotti, Janice Epting Selig, Rich Sottile, Jon Thomas. If you are on the fence about the event, talk to one of these people if you know them in real life and see what you’ll be missing if you don’t go.
