Conshy Classic Bike Race and Drone Show!
3/5/2025
by Brian Coll
Last year was the first Simon’s Heart Conshy Classic Bike Race. While it was held on a misty day the streets were packed with folks cheering on the racers. The organizers saw a great event and thought a change of date would benefit the racers, the spectators and the borough. This year a unique date presented itself….May 10th which happens to be the 175th anniversary of the Borough of Conshohocken incorporation. So, with the bike race bringing the community together, the borough will have a drone show in the evening to celebrate our 175th anniversary.
Before the first tire hits the course, the organizers have some other exciting news and events planned. Up first is taking place on March 11th at the Great American Pub.

I know I am writing this as the RSVP window is closing for the March 11th event. It is essentially a pre race mixer with some sponsors and organizers as well as a chance to meet the charities the bike race helps benefits including Simon’s Heart and Johnnie’s Place. You may be familiar with Simon’s Heart, the local foundation has sadly been in our community for almost 20 years with the passing of young Simon Sudman 20 years ago. His family looked for a way to help children receive heart monitoring to prevent sudden cardiac arrests. Through their work, more than 20,000 heart screenings have taken place. 20 years later our hearts still break thinking about the tragedy this family went through, Darren and Phyllis, we’re thinking of you and very thankful you looked for a way to help others in your time of grieving.
You may not be familiar with Johnnie’s Place. Sadly this pre race mixer will be taking place on the first anniversary of the passing of John Dinda. John was a young man who left us too early. While he may no longer be with us, he left a huge impact on those who knew and loved him. His dad Michael is creating Johnnie’s Place to be a house for young adults with autism and their care takers. If you would like to know more, the event on March 11th at the Great American Pub may be the perfect time to hear about it.

In addition to the new time of year, there is also a new course in place for the 2025 Conshy Classic Bike Race. The organizers took into account the quality of the race and have worked with borough officials to make this a better race, for the racers, organizers and folks affected by the course.

The drone show to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the incorporation of the Borough of Conshohocken will start at 7:00 with more details as to where the best viewing will be to follow. Check our Facebook page as we get closer to the event.
