Conshohocken Author Day – This Saturday 4/6/2024
by Brian Coll
4/4/2024
For the past year or so a group of local businesses have been creating events in and around Conshohocken. This group is Discover Conshohocken. This Saturday, they are putting together a borough wide author event. Local authors are excited to set up outside some of your favorite places. So, Saturday, go and Discover Conshohocken.
The next event is Spring into Conshy coming up the first Saturday in May, local artists and creators will be set up along the sidewalks on Fayette Street and down a few side streets. May 4th, save the date.
I talked to two local authors in advance of the borough book signing event. First I have Andrew Kibe, Andrew, where are you setting up at?
I’ll be outside of Our Daily Bagel by 3rd Avenue.
Tell us about your book(s)
I currently have 2 books to my name and am working on a 3rd. The first is titled FIVE and is a collection of five short stories. The fun part of writing this was doing five different sub-genres of horror/thriller. My other book is titled Decay. This is a mix of Squid Games and zombies. A group of people must complete various trials while being chased and attacked by flesh hungry zombies.
I’m happy you’re going to be a part of this. I enjoyed FIVE and I’m still getting into Decay. Besides sales, what are you looking forward to this Saturday?
I am looking forward to meeting existing fans and possibly making a few new ones. If anyone has read either or both of my books, be ready because I want to hear what was your favorite story from FIVE and what was your favorite trial from Decay!
I also got to talk to M.P Kidd who I met at another Discover Conshohocken event. M.P tell us about yourself.
I live on Maple Street with my fiance, Tori and our dog, Lady. We’re getting married next month and we can’t wait.
Tell us about your book.
They’re Not Here to Save Us is a post-apocalyptic Sci/Fi fantasy story. Catch-It is a young man, surviving on his own in the woods in search of his lost sister, when he is recruited by some mysterious creatures to help save mankind. He’s promised super powers and a domain to protect. But before he can join their side, he meets a band of supernatural rebels who reveal that those mysterious creatures aren’t who they say they are. Now, Catch-It must decide whether to answer the call or join the rebellion.
This book is for fans of The Hunger Games and The Walking Dead.
Where can people find you on Saturday?
I’ll be set up in front of Coll’s Framing.
Besides a possible book sale or two, what are you looking forward to?
I’m super excited for Author Day. I’m looking forward to sharing my work with my community and meeting the other authors that make Conshy such a cool home. There’s always something going on in Conshohocken and I’m glad to be a part of it.
Okay, hope to see everyone out and about on Saturday.
