So, how long has Brunch been open at this point?
We celebrated our 2 year anniversary this July!
What is the official name?
Brunch, plain & simple 🙂
Our website is BrunchConshy.com. So you know what your eating (Brunch) and where you are eating it (Conshohocken). No surprises or guessing what kind of restaurant it is or where it is located.
What made you want to do this in this location?
We have been in Conshohocken for about 21 years and knew we wanted to have our business in this community. The cafe was available, close to home and perfect for our concept.
This is going to sound strange, and this is coming from a guy who doesn’t consider himself a foodie or anything, but everything I have had to eat there has been inspired. All of the chefs seem to have the same passion. How have you managed to do that?
Our friend Frank came to work for us shortly after we opened. He & John share a love of everything Brunch. With the help of our dining room manager Joanna & Danielle we brainstorm new ideas about once a month. Its a fun meeting that always leaves us hungry!
What is the most popular dish? What’s your favorite?
We make an Italian omelette called a frittata. It’s part of Danielle’s family Easter holiday tradition. We have a Garden Frittata with fresh veggies, Country Frittata with sausage & potatoes and a Smoked Salmon topped with chive cream cheese. We often run special Frittatas as well. Our guest can’t get enough of them.
Anything changing in the future? Different hours? Seasonal menu?
We just added a Puppy Platter for our four legged friends and the reviews are outstanding 🙂 Our hours are 7-2 weekdays & 8-2 weekends which seem to work for everyone. We change our menu with every season adding ingredients from our garden and Heritage Farm produce. Look for pumpkin flavors this fall & heartier dishes this winter.
The new items sound delicious! Since you’ve been open for some time now, did it help or hurt that you took over an existing space that had a restaurant there before you?
We think it was to our advantage. Not only did we inherited a wonderful staff which we are happy to report are still with us today but we have regulars that have been dining at the cafe for years. We often joke about adding name plates to their chairs!
I’m not sure if you knew this or not but former First Lady Hillary Clinton had a cheesesteak in your building when it was Boccella’s… she was running for President and was at the Fellowship House and came here for lunch. Have you had any celebrities here since you’ve been open?
Athletes! Ricky Fowler, Dustin Johnson and Jimmy Butler.
My wife loves it here and I think she wishes she could eat here everyday. Thanks for chatting with us today, is there anything I’m missing, anything else you’d like to say?
We would like to thank this community for giving us such a warm welcome. We are having a wonderful time and look forward to meeting new people. If you see John in the kitchen or Danielle by the door please don’t hesitate to say hello! We really consider our cafe an extension of our dining room at home and we are never too busy to stop and visit with our guests.
Thank you so much, I know that once people find this gem they seem to talk about it and come back. We’re so glad you both wanted to open this amazing restaurant here in Conshohocken. Thank you.
