I can tell you, it is one of the best events of the year. If you have never heard of this event how it works is like this.. Start by calling or texting some friends. Tell them you get to eat and drink your way through Conshohocken. Buy your tickets and meet at the Great American Pub on Sunday September 26th. Get there between 11-12. In this time, you find out what restaurant you are starting at for the day. The Ambucs and the folks running it (Vince and Debbie Flocco, Tom Wcislo and a great group of volunteers) like to break up the couple hundred people going by having groups start at different places around the borough. Because of this, you never feel rushed, overwhelmed. You get to go from place to place, eating and drinking from the best restaurants the Conshohocken’s have to offer. Each place along the way will offer up a signature dish, or a sampling of what their restaurant has to offer. If the particular restaurant you are at, has a liquor license, you can purchase an adult beverage. In some cases, a friend may leave a bottle of wine at a BYOB. So, you and your friends are essentially wandering Conshohocken and getting to eat and drink at some of the best places the borough has to offer. I need to point out a very important thing here. All of the restaurants involved in this event are donating their food, their time, their space. This event doesn’t happen without the amazing restaurant community we are so fortunate to have. I will say it again, ALL OF THE RESTAURANTS INVOLVED IN THIS EVENT ARE DONATING THEIR FOOD, THEIR TIME, THEIR SPACE. THIS EVENT DOESN’T HAPPEN WITHOUT THE AMAZING RESTAURANT COMMUNITY WE ARE SO FORTUNATE TO HAVE.
All of the proceeds from the event go to the Conshohocken Ambucs. They in turn host Special Olympic events as well as other community based programs. The borough is lucky to have a great service organization like the Ambucs.
Hope to see you there, here are a couple photos from 2019:
