A Phone Call – Conshohocken is Known for its Restaurants

We are hosting a Greetings From Conshohocken show featuring photos and memorabilia of Bruce Springsteen. There are some really cool pieces here, some taken by West Conshohocken native Phil Ceccola. Phil got to know Bruce pretty well and even had Bruce at his house in West Conshohocken and latter on in Bridgeport. So, that sets the story for this phone call that I overheard my mom taking at our shop.
It went something like this:
Donna: Good afternoon, thank you for calling Coll’s Custom Framing can I help you?
Caller ( I assume asked how long the Bruce Springsteen show was running for)
Donna: It goes until the end of the month, and we are here Monday through Friday from 9-5:30, Thursday nights til 7 and Saturdays until 4:00.
Caller ( are there any good places to eat near you? )
Donna: Well, Conshohocken is known for its restaurants. If you’re looking for a crabcake sandwich or wings try the Boathouse, if you want a place with a great atmosphere and a menu with something for everyone try the Great American Pub. Looking for an upscale BYOB try Fayette Street Grille or Trattoria Totaro. Southern… Southern Cross around the corner from the Boathouse. There’s also, Greek, Mexican, Thai, Chinese all within a block there. Want the best burger in the area try the StoneRose and if you want Sushi, this little place Guppy’s has the areas best Sushi chef
At this point…. I think the caller got way more info than they were after. I hope they came and visited our shop and one of the restaurants we are known for.
I sat back and thought about that phone call I overheard. I can only hope there are other people and businesses out there that truly love this community and all it has to offer. I hope other people are proud to talk about businesses in our community. Have a great day all, spread the love. If you live here, maybe try a different restaurant and be proud to talk about it. These places employ your neighbors, they support our community in so many ways.
Nothing to do with the story, but my wife and I went to Jasper’s Westside for the first time and we were very impressed. So, maybe it has something to do with the story, we did try something new and I’m happy to talk about it. The service was amazing the food was great and the atmosphere was just right.
