Spring Mill Carnival & Funfest Weekend

Let’s hope for great weather this weekend!

Let’s start with the Funfest. It is this coming Saturday right in the heart of Conshohocken.

Look for vendors with arts and crafts, food and more along Fayette Street. There will be a stage set up by The Boathouse and Flocco’s. Speaking of Flocco’s…. this event doesn’t happen without Vince Flocco and some friends creating it and running it for decades before the Borough of Conshohocken stepped in. When you go back to the early 90’s when it was created, there was no budget for this type of event. Vince worked hard to bring it to life and any money above and beyond the costs went to local charities including Special Olympics, The Conshohocken Fellowship House, The Conshohocken Free Library and the Colonial Neighborhood Council.

Back to this year… it looks to be a great day on Fayette Street.

Monty will kick things off, I’m looking forward to seeing them…. they were set to play one of the concerts in the park this year but due to bad weather or bad air quality they did not get to play. Our friend Ava DiFiore is part of Monty.

While Monty will kick things off, Super 70’s Rock Show featuring Super Trans Am will close the night, and they might have to be kicked off Fayette Street at 8 because I know they are going to want to keep playing and I know we’re going to want to keep hearing them!

While the Funfest has a ton of activities for kids of all ages, the Spring Mill Carnival has some legit rides and games.

Spring Mill Carnival has been taking place the past few years with great crowds. It was a community staple for decades, went away for a bit and now it is back and it seems to be exactly what we need.

Both events are fun, family friendly and are both this weekend.

The Spring Mill Carnival is a fundraiser for a great local fire company. These folks at the fire company risk their lives for us, spend their own time to train, to work community events and more. This is a great weekend to go throw 20 bucks into a donation bucket or buy your kids a few rides. No kids… maybe buy yourself some funnel cake or carnival food.

The Funfest will have a ton of local creators. Maybe buy a shirt and a delicious baked good.

Maybe I’ll see you out and about in and around Conshohocken this weekend.
