We are so excited for our friend Daniela, this has been a dream of hers for years and opening day is right around the corner. It was a little over 11 years ago when she opened the premier coffee shop in Conshohocken, ‘Feine! Now she brings her vision and her cherished recipes from her home to all of our community. You may know the location as the old Pete’s Deli. Best of luck Daniela!

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA – March 21, 2023 – Bom Dia! The long awaited grand opening of the new Brazilian Bakery, Merenda Box, in Conshohocken has been scheduled for March 24.  Owner, Daniela de Souza, will bring the vibrance and flavorful soul of Brazil to the suburbs of Philadelphia.

“I am excited to welcome customers to experience and enjoy the Brazilian soul through our recipes,” said Owner Daniela de Souza. “Customers will be able to taste the heart and soul of Brazilian culture through eating one of our snacks or small meals, called ‘merendas’ in portuguese.” 

Highlights of the Menu Include:

Pão de queijo – Daniela’s famous Brazilian cheese bread 

Queijo Waffle-wich – Breakfast sandwich on a waffle made of Daniela’s Pão de queijo

Sonhos – the dream! Deep fried donuts filled with cream or doce de leite and tossed in sugar

Brigadeiro – a traditional Brazilian dessert made with condensed milk, butter and cocoa powder

Coxinha – popular food with shredded chicken wrapped in dough shaped like a drumstick. 

Bolinho de bacalhau – Made with a mixture of potatoes, salted codfish, eggs, parsley, onion

Pastel – fried dough with meat and cheese combinations similar to an empanada

For Daniela, this concept is a way of life, it is a representation and reflection of home, family and the tastes and sounds of Brazil.  Daniela has a deep connection to her culture and experience growing up in Rio and is excited to share her unique tempero, (which means big flavors, seasoning and unique combinations of ingredients), when the doors to Merenda Box open. Each menu item is made with the heart of Brazil.
