Let’s jump right in. 2020/2021…. maybe you’ve been on the good side of this, maybe you have been affected in more ways than one. If you need help putting food on the table, please go see Sandi Fryer at the Colonial Neighborhood Council. If you are in a position to help your neighbors, we appreciate it.

We’ve been spearheading the effort to feed our community for almost a decade now. We’ll hear different terms thrown around, food insecure being one of them… the way we see it, we have hungry people, seniors, working families, kids all in our community. The least we can do is help out.

Here’s how you can help:

November 3rd, stop by the Conshohocken Veterans Association and join us for the annual Kick Off Party food, raffles, kids activities all hosted by the Hussey Team. The event runs from 4-6. Address is 300 East 5th Ave. Bring food for the Colonial Neighborhood Council.

If you can’t make the kick off party, don’t worry, we have over a month to help stock the shelves. Here is the food drive flyer:

We also have the amazing community at Saint Philip Neri Church filling a bus this year:

We are so lucky to have the support of the Hussey family and the Saint Philip Neri Church community along with Michelle Sague Abuiso and Sague Bus Company. These two events are crucial to the efforts of stocking the Colonial Neighborhood Council.

If you want to help in person, we could use help around 9am on Monday November 8th at the Colonial Neighborhood Council to unload the bus from Saint Philip Neri.

A few things to note this year, we will not be weighing the food donations. This helps speed up the process and keeps us social distancing. If your company needs us to weigh the donations, we will. We appreciate all of the companies who have created their own internal food drives and brought the food and supplies to the Colonial Neighborhood Council. We will also be accepting gift cards to local supermarkets. This does two things, one is it helps local families buy what they need when they need it. Two, is with shortages on so many items, we can keep our local supermarkets from running out of crucial products that all of us need.

We want to thank the director of the Colonial Neighborhood Council, Sandi Fryer. Sandi is a saint. While we bring the food, Sandi and a few amazing people distribute all the food and keep our community neighbors fed and healthy.

I want to thank all of you, over the past few years we have collected over 100,000 pounds of food for our community. I hate asking, I really do. I wouldn’t be asking if it wasn’t needed.
