In this undated photo from at least 1963 on… it shows crews working on the bridge that is over Germantown Pike by the turnpike. When we originally posted this we had misidentified the bridge as on Butler Pike, a few people got it right that it was actually on Germantown. So, we went and matched it up:

We’re sorry it’s not a closer photo to match the angle and such, but it’s no place to stop and take a photo. This photo was right before the lanes were closed down due to the Chemical Road closure.
