We were saddened when we saw the news of not one but two good guys from West Conshy passed away this week.

Jim Priest, a lifelong resident of West Conshy passed away on Sunday. Jim had served his country in the United States Army, served his borough as a police officer and served his family well for many, many years. Jim’s wife passed a few years before him but not before they had a loving family and a good run together. I think they were married close to 60 years….. I know I saw him  over the years here or there in West Conshy, probably at MacKenzie Park or one of the parades over the years. My dad jack worked with Jim at Hale Pumps and only had fond memories of him. My dad immediately smiled when we started talking about him and thought of his infectious smile and how good he was to the younger guys when they started at Hale Pumps. From our family to yours, we are sorry for your loss. We are thinking of you members of the Priest and Vernon families.

John Frankenfield, also a lifelong resident of West Conshy passed away on Monday at home. John was dedicated to the George Clay Fire Company. (If you are newer to the area George Clay Fire Company is a first class fire company that has been serving West Conshohocken well for generations. The Frankenfield family has been very dedicated to George Clay Fire Company and helping out the borough of West Conshohocken for what seems like forever) While I can’t say I know all of the Frankenfields, I can tell all of you, my family and I are sorry for you loss. I understand the SPCA are taking donations in his name as he was an animal lover and had a number of dogs over the years.

Once again, your friends on the other side of the river are thinking of you. West Conshy is such a unique community, it touches everyone when we lose someone.
