Saint Philip Neri – You Did it Again, You Came up Big! Fill a Bus was a HUGE Success!

You know, being hungry doesn’t take a day off when you simply don’t have food. Hunger doesn’t care that it’s windy, raining cats and dogs… people need to eat, it’s that simple. Yesterday, the students, staff and teachers from Saint Philip Neri unloaded a bus full of food as part of the Conshystuff Food Drive. Michelle Sague Abiuso set this up a few years ago and has done a wonderful job making it work every year. All weekend long people dropped food off at the church, students sorted it, and filled the bus and yesterday in the wind and rain they showed up to deliver it.
We have to thank the volunteers from St. Clair CPA who showed up (again) to help us unload the bus and get the food in the building.
We have to thank Tricia Begnaud and her daughter Rebecca who showed up in the rain as did Clint Gates who is an incredible cheerleader for our food drive.
We really have to thank everyone who donated, it doesn’t happen without all of you.
NOW…. OUR FIRST YEAR DOING THE FOOD DRIVE, WE RAISED A TOTAL OF 7,000 POUNDS in total….. Yesterday…. AN UNREAL AMOUNT OF 8,000 POUNDS OF FOOD CAME INTO THE COLONIAL NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL!!!!!
The Conshystuff Food Drive goes until at least Thanksgiving, and honestly we will never turn down food, so you can bring it pretty much anytime to the Colonial Neighborhood Council or Coll’s Custom Framing. During the official food drive other places around our community are accepting donations. Some of the places collecting food are Coldwell Banker, Conshohocken Italian Bakery, Conshohocken Physical Therapy, DeStolfo’s Premier Martial Arts, ‘feine, GMH Mortgage – The Hussey Team, Heaven and Earth Salon, Rogue Hair Botique, Sal’s Barber Shop, The Hair Designer, Tone Zone Fitness Studio…..
