Goodbye Josie Lesinski

Goodbye Josie Lesinski

by Brian Coll

A good friend to our family called yesterday to tell me she had some bad news. My heart raced for that few seconds while waiting to hear what it was. I was shocked and saddened to hear the news that Josie Lesinski passed away.

Josie, or Mrs L., if you knew her, you know she had a giant heart, very generous, I mean no offense by this, but her mouth may have been as big as her heart, you knew she was in the room and spotted you when she called out your name. For years, she worked down at the paper store on East 1st Ave. At some point the paper store became part of Toad’s Tavern and she still worked there. More recently she was working at the Liberty Gas Station up on Butler Pike.

If you went to Archbishop Kennedy, you may remember her graciously giving her time filming the football games for Coach Bockrath. I have been watching some of those games recently and even now, I can’t thank her enough.

Josie, we’ll miss you.

To Walt and your family, we are so sorry for your loss.
